Smoky Scot represents our Islay offering, full of the characteristic peat smoke and medicinal notes for which the island’s whiskies are renowned. Distilled at Caol Ila Distillery on the east coast of the whisky island, it offers a great insight into what Islay has to offer to whisky aficionados.

Matured for five years in traditional oak casks that previously held bourbon, it is a youthful and lively representative of the house style. The clear and vibrant flavours of iodine, seaweed, tar and smoke will transport you to the magical island of Islay. Non chill-filtered for maximum flavour, the whisky comes at 46% ABV.

Tasting Notes

The initial notes of tar, old wood, brine and smoke gradually give way to a more subtle, flowery and malty bouquet. There is roasted sunflower seeds, generous maltiness and a hint of menthol.

Campfire Chocolate

• 25ml Smoky Scot Single Malt Scotch Whisky
• 30ml hot water
• 30g Cocoa powder
• 150ml Oat milk (regular milk works as well)
• 10ml Syrup (simple syrup or maple syrup)
• 5-6 Marshmallows

An indulgent treat for those with a sweet tooth. Mix the cocoa powder, milk and syrup together, add the hot water and then heat until the mixture is hot but not boiling. Pour into a mug then add in the Smoky Scot and top with the marshmallows.

Smoky Sour

• 60ml Smoky Scot Single Malt Scotch
• 30ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
• 15ml syrup
• 15ml egg white
• Cherries to garnish

Add ice to a cocktail shaker and pour in the Smoky Scot, lemon juice, the simple syrup and half an egg white. Shake for 15 seconds. Pour over ice and garnish with a couple of cherries.

Smoky Spring

• 60ml Smoky Scot
• 2 dashes of bitters
• 15ml ginger liqueur
• 20ml fresh squeeze lemon juice
• 20ml Tonic water
• 20ml simple syrup
• Strawberries and mint leaves for garnish

Add ice to a cocktail shaker and add all of the liquid ingredients. Shake for 15 seconds and pour over an ice-filled tall glass. Garnish with mint leaves and strawberries.
