There are some stories that feel intrinsically tied to a place — shaped by its landscape, its history, and the life that moves through it. Speyside is full of such stories. And now, we are proud to introduce a new one.

On 26 March 2026, in the midst of World Osprey Week, we unveil Osprey — our new single malt Scotch whisky brand inspired by one of Scotland’s most iconic birds of prey and its remarkable return to the skies over Speyside.

A Symbol of Speyside

Flowing through the heart of the region, the River Spey has defined Speyside for generations — carving the landscape, sustaining wildlife, and nurturing what would become the spiritual home of Scotch whisky.

Since the 1950s, Speyside has once again been home to the osprey.

Once driven to extinction in the UK, the osprey’s return is one of Scotland’s great conservation success stories. Graceful, precise and resilient, it has become a powerful symbol of the region — a reflection of both nature’s strength and its ability to recover.

Osprey draws directly from this story.

Whisky Rooted in Place

Crafted in Speyside, Osprey is a celebration of both environment and expertise — a meeting point between the natural world and the art of whisky making.

The inaugural release features two carefully selected single malts, each offering a distinct expression of the region:

Braeval – 10 Years Old
Matured in Oloroso sherry casks, this expression is rich and warming, with notes of cocoa, stewed fruits, walnuts and gentle spice. A deeper, more indulgent style that reflects the richness of Speyside’s character.

Glentauchers – 15 Years Old
Matured in bourbon barrels, this whisky is lighter and more delicate, revealing layers of tropical fruit, honey, citrus and creamy malt. Elegant and refined, with a beautifully balanced finish.

Together, they showcase the diversity and craftsmanship that define Speyside whisky.

A Personal Journey

For Aceo’s Managing Director, Edward Odim, Osprey is more than just a new release — it’s a deeply personal project.

“I’ve had a love of birds and wildlife since I was a young lad. Having spent time as a BBC wildlife producer, I had the privilege of making programmes about ospreys. Creating a whisky that brings together whisky and one of my favourite birds is immensely rewarding.

Osprey celebrates whisky and supports one of Speyside’s most iconic returning species — it’s a tribute, not only to ospreys, but to Speyside and what makes the region so special.”

Supporting Conservation

In partnership with the renowned Loch Garten Osprey Centre in the Cairngorms, sales of Osprey whisky will also contribute to supporting the conservation of this iconic species — ensuring that future generations can continue to witness its presence in Speyside’s skies.

A Whisky with Meaning

Osprey is more than a name on a label. It is a reflection of place, a connection to nature, and a celebration of craftsmanship.

Above all, it is a reminder that great whisky — like the landscapes it comes from — tells a story.

And this one is taking flight.

Osprey will be available from 26 March 2026 through specialist drinks retailers. For enquiries, please contact: info@aceo.co.uk
